Music

All the music here is exclusively my personal composition. The material here is unreleased, but it's all © me.

No Compromise (NoCo)

For all my work released with NoCo, please head over to the NoCo website. Note that I didn't join the band until after the release of Wasted Dreams, so Pull the Plug was my first writing, recording, and performance with the band. I can't take credit for any prior work.

Side Projects

Turbofire

Turbofire is my video game music tribute, arranging classic video game themes (usually from the 8-bit and 16-bit era) for a rock ensemble. It's been done before, prominently by the Minibosses and other pioneers of video game music appreciation, but it's still a heck of a lot of fun. I make sure I cover songs they haven't already done since they would most likely do it better. Some of my arrangements are strict interpretations of the originals, while others purposefully include some artistic embellishment and other liberties.

MIDI Based Compositions

These songs are much older compositions, usually dating before from 2002 and written when I was in my early teens. In the early days of computing, before the prominence of MP3s, we had MIDI, which stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. In short, the way MIDI works on a computer is it takes musical notes and translates it to rough instrument sounds using your computer's soundcard. Hence it doesn't sound "real" - it's just your computer's soundcard playing notes using a sound sample of the given instrument.

Doesn't make sense yet? What I've done in this case is recorded my soundcard's output to MP3, so you don't have to fret about your soundcard and how it interprets those notes. But the music will sound "fake" in a lot of ways, because the instruments aren't real.
