Quick Bio
I'm William. I play drums in the alternative rock band NoCo. I also play a little guitar, bass, clarinet, and other assorted instruments. I have a home studio setup where I do most of my demo recording and songwriting. I like virtually all genres of music including jazz, industrial, rock, blues, metal, classical, older R&B, hip-hop and everything in between. I don't like most country music, as well as some rap/crunk/hip-hop.
I've been playing drums since I was about 12 or 13, and I've been in a number of ridiculous bands over the years. I was classically trained on clarinet since 5th grade and continued through my first year of college. I taught myself to play guitar at the very end of my college career and beyond.
I know a thing or two about programming - lately it's all been ColdFusion, but I've also done professional work in C++, Java, .NET, and every flavor of Visual Basic. I'm pretty good with databases (especially Oracle) and SQL. Not too bad at XHTML and JavaScript either. Passable at CSS, but I'm not much of a designer - which is why I borrowed this design from Open Source Web Design with some modifications.
I'm pro at FuseBox and not too bad with Model-Glue. I've worked with Spring, Struts, and Hibernate. I've used jQuery for some JavaScript and AJAX coding. I've also done some pretty significant projects in Microsoft Access and VBA, but who really wants to deal with that anymore?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Science and Technology with a dual concentration in Information Knowledge Management and Telecommunications from James Madison University (2004), with a minor in Computer Science. I also hold a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from George Mason University (2007). I'm an Adobe certified ColdFusion MX developer, and I have various other lesser certifications.
